Policy
Statements on Parents/Carers as Partners
Rationale
We are
committed to working in partnership with parents/carers and see this as
essential to developing a nursery which serves children families and the wider
local community.
Strategies
We will achieve our aim of working effectively with parents by:
·
Consulting with and seeking guidance
from parents/carers when planning and implementing child care practices. We
will ensure this information is accessible to all parents,
·
Providing parents/carers with
opportunities to work with their children alongside key staff in the nursery.
·
Ensuring that parents/carers have
the opportunity to review their children's progress and help set future
realistic plans for their child on regular basis with nursery staff.
·
Ensuring that parents/carers are
kept informed about updates to the
policies, procedures and guidelines of the nursery.
·
Offering parents/carers the
opportunity to play a part in curriculum activities, festivals and all nursery
events. For example planning evenings, passport update evenings, and Christmas
parties.
·
We run a funding raising group
called F.O.O.N which is made up of parents and staff, to help raise funds for
new equipment, resources ect..
·
Ensuring that parents/carers can
meet with staff and other parents/carers to discuss relevant issues and
concerns.
·
All parents/carers will be welcome
to visit the nursery.
·
Parents will have access to their
child's records and will be consulted in respect to the care given.
·
A suggestion system will be put into operation.
·
Providing daily event diaries for
children under 3 years.
