For Shared roles and responsibilities.

Shared:

Supervision and maintenance of ratios.

Due to free flow plan of the school nursery, if a child during day care chooses to play inside or outside the school nursery staff will be responsible in conjunction with the children’s centre nursery staff for maintaining supervision and the staff / child ratio.

Accidents

During day care the person responsible for administering first aid will fill in the CIC nursery accident form if this is not the senior nursery nurse she will counter sign the form. If the senior nursery nurse fills in the accident form a school staff member will counter sign it. Any further action school staff to act as witnesses to the nursery staff.

Illness

When a day care child is taken ill, children’s centre staff will follow the set procedures. School nursery staff to be responsible for other day care children until cover arrives from the children’s centre.

Child protection

When a child protection issue arises during day care Watcombe CIC policies and procedures are followed, but school nursery staff may act as witnesses.

Other

During day care sessions, no hot drinks to be taken when working with children.

Supply staff will be informed of these procedures by the senior nursery nurse.

Roles for the Children’s Centre staff

The reporting of any accident or illness to appropriate authority including RIDDOR.

Keeping in adult child ratio.

Informing parents of any relevant information regarding their child.

Company policies and procedures and paper work completed.

Children’s centre staff to be on hand as soon as school nursery session finishes.

To make sure kitchen and snack area in school is clean and tidy before the beginning of the afternoon session.
