The nursery was built from funding from SureStart, and it has taken over three years of planning to get a purpose built centre with a bright and enjoyable nursery. WPS Childrens Centre CIC is the company that was formed in 2006 to run the nursery in partnerships with other organisations. We are a ‘Community Interest Company’ which means that all profits go back into the nursery to improve the facilities for your child and will also allow us to put on excursions for our children in the nursery. We don't have shareholders that we have to answer too, no one takes money out of the company other than for work carried out. The company is run by a voluntary board, who do not take a wage for their hard work and dedication.

 Community Interest Companies (CICs)

CICs are a new type of limited company designed specifically for those wishing to operate for the benefit of the community rather than for the benefit of the owners of the company. This means that a CIC cannot be formed or used solely for the personal gain of a particular person, or group of people.
